Fountain Valley Residents Directory is a privately operated reference to public rolls, record indexes, and historical directory collections connected with Fountain Valley, Orange County, and California. It points readers toward the Orange County Assessor, Orange County Clerk-Recorder, Superior Court, Registrar of Voters, city records, and library sources. It does not host government records and is not affiliated with any office, court, or records custodian.
2. Lawful Use Rules
Use the reference and anything reached through it only for lawful purposes. Prohibited uses include:
- Stalk, harass, intimidate, threaten, or injure another person
- Use the reference to locate someone protected by a restraining or protective order
- Use information to commit identity theft or fraud
- Use results in an FCRA-regulated decision (credit, employment, tenant, insurance)
- Harvest, copy, or republish the site's content at scale
- Disrupt the reference or defeat its security
California voter information is not open for unrestricted browsing. An identity-gated self-lookup is for the voter checking that voter's own record, while an approved file or specific-voter request requires a documented authorized purpose, identification, application, and the limits in Elections Code §§2188, 2194, and 18109, Government Code §7924.000, and 2 CCR §§19001-19013.
3. No Consumer-Reporting Status
Fountain Valley Residents Directory is not a consumer reporting agency as that term is defined by the Fair Credit Reporting Act, 15 U.S.C. § 1681 et seq. Nothing on these pages, and nothing returned by a linked search tool, is a consumer report. None of it may be used to decide eligibility for credit, employment, housing, insurance, or another purpose covered by the FCRA.
4. External Portals and Providers
Government portals and third-party services, including sponsored search tools, set their own terms and privacy rules. That includes the Orange County Superior Court case-access portal and other county, city, state, library, and archive links. We do not control their content, availability, prices, or data practices.
5. No Warranties
The reference is supplied "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind. No promise is made that a page is accurate, complete, or current, or that an outside portal will remain available or return a correct result.
6. Liability Limits
To the fullest extent allowed by law, the operators are not liable for direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, or special damages arising from use of this reference or a linked resource, including a decision made from a record found through it.
7. Indemnification
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold the operators harmless from a claim or demand, including reasonable attorneys' fees, that results from your misuse of the reference or breach of these terms.
8. Intellectual Property
The original writing, design, logo, and layout are protected by copyright. Linking to a page and quoting a short attributed excerpt is welcome. Republishing full pages or copying the material in a systematic way is not permitted.
9. Changes to the Terms
A revised version may be posted here at any time. Continued use after the revision is posted means that the updated terms are accepted.
10. Restricting Access
Access may be blocked or limited for a user who violates these terms or abuses the reference. The operators may take that step at their discretion and without advance notice.
11. California Law
These terms are governed by California law, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. The California Public Records Act, Government Code §§7920.000-7931.000, concerns requests for existing identifiable public records from government custodians; it does not make this private reference the custodian of a Fountain Valley or Orange County record. The California Consumer Privacy Act, Civil Code §1798.100 et seq., applies where its coverage and exemptions require. Questions about a source record must go to the office that holds it.
12. Severability
If a court finds one part of these terms unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in effect.
